This is the story of our life and the 40 little toes we have to love. Our quiver is full!

Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them. Psalm 125:3-5

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day! We have been enjoying our 4th of July so far today. The kids starting the morning off right with a fun run in the park. Both big kids participated and did great. A got a little lesson in sportsmanship when another kid shoved him to try and pass. He was not happy about it but we were proud that he just recovered and kept on running. And, he still beat the kids that shoved him anyway! After running, we enjoyed the playground, lots of inflatables, a karate demonstration and of course some hamburgers and hot dogs. Now, the girls are all napping as we prepare for a big night! We will be spending the evening grilling out with friends. Lucky for us, they live across the street from the park where the fireworks are done. We will have front row seats for all the festivities!

No More Training Wheels!

We now have a new super bike rider in the family. M has shed her training wheels and is riding her bike like a superstar! This week we decided it was time and so off they came. It only took about 3 trips down the driveway with mom and then she was on her own. She is really enjoying holding her own with the bigger kids in the neighborhood.

More Fun in the Sun

What happens when the days get long and the sun gets hot? We go for a swim... or maybe just a splash. On Friday afternoon it was time for the baby pool to make its summer debut. We blew it up, filled it up, and splashed away! The big kids got a little bored with so little water so they started practicing their karate moves (at least that is what they called them!). Whatever they were, it was another fun summer afternoon!

When the splashing was done, it was time for a little talk. Big sister C got the baby talking like crazy. I guess she was tired of being left out and wanted to join in on the fun. She sure had a lot of happy things to say to her big sis! The two of them just kept talking and giggling. It sure was cute.

Summertime fun!

It is summer and it is hot! We pulled out the sand and water table this week to help us beat the heat! Right now there is only water in it so that was even more fun. The kids like to float ducks and boats in it but mostly they like to splash!

Father's Day in Door County

We had a wonderful Father's Day today. It started way too early but the kids were excited to give Jason his presents. The kids and I made Jason some special art with their hand prints that had a baseball theme. Since he is not nearly as sentimental as I am, that gift also came with a new baseball game for the Wii (much more up his alley than hand print art!).

After presents, we decided to spend the day in Door County. We grabbed the kids swim stuff and packed into the van. It was a beautiful, hot, sunny day. They loved playing at the the beach and swimming in the water.

C was a little hesitant about the water and sand but she got used to it. M was also a little scared of the fish that might be lurking and was hesitant to go out in the water but A was an awesome big brother and helped them out.

Little W just chilled out in the stroller staying nice and cool in the shade. She is such a trooper. We did not hear a single complaint out of her as her schedule was totally disrupted. She just napped and smiled all day.

After swimming, we were ready for ice cream. A quick change and a little walk through Fish Creek took us to the ice cream shop! Everyone enjoyed their ice cream before we headed home. YUM!

Mama's Helper

Little C can't get enough of "her" baby. She loves to help. Whenever I am nursing, she immediately goes to the cupboard to get me a burp rag. She tries to hold the baby, rock the baby, kiss the baby, wipe the baby, change her diaper - you name it, she's tried it! Fortunately the gentle hands are becoming more and more frequent and there is less trauma to poor W in the process! Let's hope this sisterly love continues for their whole lives!
